Introduction, Installation and Opening of Wand

Intro

Wand is a software module that contains all the printer hosting functions, including connection, calibration, sending print jobs, maintenance and etc. Before UP Studio 3, all these functions were built into the slicer, from UP Studio 3 onward, all printer related functions are separated from the slicer to allow more flexible development of both softwares.

In Windows version the installation of Wand take place during the installation of UP Studio 3.

In Mac version, user need to download the Wand DMG package separately and install it as an independent software.

Opening the software

Apart from opening the software from the installation directory, user can open Wand module by clicking the "Print" button from UP Studio 3.

When a printer is connected to Wand, UP Studio 3 will be noticed in the background.  When user choose a mesh model (STL), then click the print button again will pop up a window and let user to choose Wand connected printers to allow sending the sliced data(.TSK file) directly to printer without going through Wand interface.

If user choose .TSK file and click the Print Button, .TSK file will be sent to printer without going through Wand interface.
