In MK1 and MK2, if power off, the Z-axis will lose power and the horizontal arm (Y-axis) will free fall. This could cause issues when power cut off unexpectly.
On the MK3 mainboard, the stepper motor circuit is designed to generate counter current when the motor is turned by a external force, so the rotation of motor will be dampened. If you move the platform back and forth by hand and feel a resistance with noise, this completely normal and no need to worry about the smoothness of the linear modules.
